As for feed, put all of them on a good chick starter crumble. The mothers will feed the chicks themselves.
Thanks, I'm down there every morning and when I put them all to bed at night so checking them twice a day/cleaning. I've just ordered from the first link. Every coop or farm store here sells medium or large feeders so I appreciate you sending the linksHello Ellie76.
Welcome to BYC.
A small teracotta bowl like one might get for a tapas selection works well. Put some stones in it. The weight of the clay bowl and the stones will help stop the bowl from being tipped over. They're going to poop in it so regular inspection and cleaning is required. Try to keep away from the plastic stuff.
Once they are mobile and bit bigger something like this works well.

You may be able to find something similar in a local farm store. They are very common in Spain.
Update: 4 chicks now, who knows how many more by tomorrowI'm new here today and the timing couldn't be better, 2 bantam chicks have just hatched
I'm based in Central Portugal but British. Working full time and looking after 2 cats, 3 geese, 2 muscovy ducks and 3 chickens, a rooster and 2 hens, bantams.
There are 6 more under the 2 hens which I will candle tomorrow, but need to know, whats the best water feeder for tiny chicks? Just a small shallow bowl? I don't want them to drown.
These are the first chicks for me, all my 8 birds are adults so looking for some advice, TIA
