Welcome to BYC! So glad to have you with us.Hi, New owner (late summer) just started getting eggs!
We picked up 8 hens in late July/early August. been nothing but fun since!
Originally had 4 buff Orpingtons, 2 Americunas and 2 black sexlinks.
Ended up losing a buff to a Hawk in early October. :-(
Was able to get a same age pair of Lavender Orpingtons a week later! Yay!
But...............2 weeks later found that one of them was a Roo! ?!?!?! go figure!
All have been getting along well, turns out the Roo (Fred) is pretty docile, looks out for everyone and doesn't make toooo much noise.
Well just this past week we started getting eggs from the Buff orpingtons...so excited! Then 4-5 days later got one from one of the Black sex links.
Just so much fun hanging out watching them and learning their personalities.
Located just north of Boston it is getting cold but they hang out in the coop if it is too crappy out.
Hope to lurk around here and learn a ton!
J
