Hi there!
I'm new to the forum but not new to the chicken world
When I was about 7 years old, my family purchased two chickens. A white leghorn roo and a Rhode Island red hen. The roo was evil and attacked everyone but my dad, so he was kept on the side of our yard in a large run type of a thing. The hen was sweet and loved getting scritches on her head and was super friendly. She was able to get to the roo, but he wasn't able to get out of the run. The wire spacing was too small for him.
The roo passed on when I was 11 and the hen passed on when I was 13. She was like family. We purchased some silkies, but they were both roos, and since we moved to the city, we had to sell them because of the noise. Sadly, we never got chickens again.
Growing up, I had a crazy love for all animals. I've had a few pets, but over the years, I've had to cut down the number because of school and not enough time.
Now that I'm in college, I still stay at home for my studies, many which are online. I am a music major, but my gen ed is primarily online. Anyways
I currently own a German Shepherd pup(10 months old), a koi/goldfish pond with about 20 fish, a 60 gallon tank inside with goldies and a small 10 gallon with bettas.
Recently, I've got this itch for chickens again. Since we'd moved into the city, it's going to be tough, but I'm willing to fight for it. Of course, I have to get hens. I will post a thread because I have lots of questions.
So yeah.
I'm here, and I'm excited to be here. I've heard many great things about this forum and how loving it can be. I'm looking forward to being a long term member
