Hi there, my name is Shelley and I am in Northern Utah. I have seen this forum many times while searching for answers to my questions, and decided it was time to join.
I have had chickens a few times, but this time we are better set up.
I currently have 10 Black Sex Link Hens that we bought just to eat eggs, as well as 3 Auracuanas.
I recently decided I;d like to breed, so I sold my 2 Roosters (one was a beautiful buff Orpington, the other an Auracana Maran Mix) and am looking for new roosters in the appropriate breeds.
I also have 4 Cuckoo Maran Teenage Pullets, and one Teenage Cockerel
Plus I have a Black Copper Maran Teenager that was given to me this week, by a guy who ordered him as a chick from Bev Davis. I can't believe he just gave it to me! I am stoked.
I also just bought day old Black Copper Marans, and one Golden Cookoo Maran (given to me by the same guy - May be a Roo)
Plus I got 12 Broiler chicks for Free this week from the guy I purchased a used Incubator from.
I am feeling rather lucky and excited this week.
We also have 2 Jumbo White Pekin Ducks
3 Black Indian Runners (Month old)
1 Khaki Campbell (few days old, another gift, wow!)
AND I have 16 Duck eggs and 14 Goose Eggs in the incubator. (Goose eggs were a gift too)
I didn't realize until I typed this all out how much poultry I actually have right now!
Anyway, my kiddos love it, and we spend hours in the barn playing with our little friends.
Glad to be on the forum. Hopefully I will have things to offer as well as learn much from all of you.
