Nice choice- Barnevelders are very pretty birds. I know somebody who has some chickens of that breed, they are the nicest birds! I think that Meyer's hatchery sells Barnevelder chicks.

a mate told me. i've made my own chicken coop before out of plate wood. i used it for some seabrights

Did your coop have a floor? Foxes can burrow under the base if the bottom is open dirt.
