Sometimes chicks just don't like being picked up, are they unfriendly in general or just don't like being picked up? Also sometimes chicks are unfriendly as babies but get friendlier as they get older and get used to you Good Luck though! ( And I'm glad you joined this awesome community! )

Welcome to the BYC flock. The way to a chicken's heart is through their stomach. Sit on the ground with them and toss some treats near you. They will get closer and closer until eventually they are checking you out and sometimes using you as a perch. They especially love meal worms -
