Hi! I have two pekin ducks, a hen and a drake. They are 10 months old.

I am very new to having ducks, and constantly learning new things. Our little girl has been laying eggs for a few months now and has recently gone broody! Everyday I am fascinated by these little creatures and how / why they behave that way. Alongside that, we are also incubating eggs.

Yesterday one of the little eggs hatched!! She is precious, friendly and very fluffy. She doesn't take too kindly to being alone, particularly in her brooder, after-all, ducks are social animals. So I hope her siblings hatch soon!

They are my first and only pets so far! I hope to get some goats, cattle and lamb and other duck breeds in the future.

I have been looking at this site ever since I have gotten them, for advice and assurance, so thank you for the community that this is.

Talk soon!
Christine

Yes! Ducks and ducklings are so adorable! It will be fun to grow your farm! I have sheep and goats (I would love some lowline cattle, but for now we usually trade sheep for beef.)

Keep us posted on your hatch and the progress of your broody!

Hiya, and Christine, and welcome to BYC! :frow

Congrats on your little duckling!

I would try giving her to her to your broody just in case she would take it. If not, nothing lost. Hopefully, your other one hatches!!
