Brand new chicken Mama here in Southeastern Tennessee! We are inheriting chickens from friends who are moving out of state. 4 Rhode Island Red hens and 5 Barred Rock hens. I'm looking forward to learning and teaching my son all about chickens! He's looking forward to the eggs and taking care of them too! Found BYC through a google search and happy I did! I've already learned so much while building the coop and run. When I'm not being a chicken Mama, I teach and do woodworking.

Can't wait to learn from all of you pros!

Welcome to BYC! I'm in North Alabama. The TN state line is just a step away. There's a number of folks from TN and GA and from N AL on here. If you need location specific advice for your coop or run, or help preventing/dealing with local predators, just reach out. You can update your profile to say where you're located - general location (southeastern TN) is sufficient. This will help folks know what advice is most helpful to you for your area when you post questions in the various forums.

Also check out your state thread.
