Hello, My name is Hawk. No, I will not eat your chickens, I'm actually a vegetarian ;)

I work for a company called SummerHawk Ranch (My dad own's a ranch that he named after myself and my sister, and he decided to name the family business after the ranch).

I work on the marketing side of things, developing new product ideas, writing all the marketing copy and directing the packaging design etc. Its a very small team so I wear a lot of hats ;)

As part of my 'Research and Development' work, I have one of our coops in my backyard with 6 pullets. One of which we named Chidori. She was the runt and has a feather sticking out of one side of her face. She's a goofball and seems to like people more than her chicken siblings (barred rock and rhode island reds). I'm excited to be a part of this community so I can learn more about raising my own chickens and hopefully get ideas on how to make life easier on chicken parents though the use of clever, sustainable products =)

Hello, Hawk, welcome to BYC and our poultry community. To the best of my knowledge you are the only 'hawk' that is welcome here.

Nice to meet you Hawk. No one will forget your name, a good business asset. Love to see photos of Chidori, sounds like she'd love to be a house chicken rather than one of the flock. Some really do better as pets. If that should ever occur to you, there is a great thread called "People with house chickens." By all means Welcome to Backyard chickens. So glad you joined the flock
