Just wanted to say hi. I am new to chicken raising and have 5 new hens and ended up with one Rooster. We love Ed our Rooster; however, we live in Firestone CO and not allowed to have a Rooster. I am trying to find some place that would caponize Ed for us and so far unsuccessful. If anybody out there can help, I would appreciate it! Thanks

Hello, Amy, and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.
I know of no vet who can or will caponize a chicken.
Have you considered just rehoming him to someone looking for a cockerel for their flock? It is done all the time with nice boys. Good luck.

Welcome to BYC. I am not certain that caponizing will stop a rooster from crowing if he is mature.
