(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We started with chickens in 2018, now that we have lived with our girls for a year we know it's time to up our game.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 8 layers & 16 chicks
(3) What breeds do you have?
8 Rhode Island Red hens
3 Americauna pullet chicks
3 Sapphire Gem pullet chicks
10 Cornish Cross chicks
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I find them calming and so funny, their antics make me laugh
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Reading, training my Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, hunting, fishing - being outside for at least an hour a day is my goal, I fill it with whatever needs doing on the property.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have children & grandchildren & we love our birds
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
My husband found it when we got our chicks last year and we have used it for a lot of our questions. Now that we fully committed to our new past time, we thought joining the community was a logical next step.
