Hi, we have no chickens or coop yet

I live in the country so I can cremate them just in case a disease was involved.
Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind. I know some people will put them in the compost pile, but I’m so paranoid about predators getting to or harassing the birds.
Our soil is red clay, and really not possible to bury them deep enough most times of the year, either due to rain or cold. Unless you break out the skiddie.

Maybe not, but you do the best you can.
No dumpsters here. We’re on acreage, as are our neighbors.
If on acreage you can dig a 3' deep hole with post hole diggers or shovel and bury carcasses. Then cover with wire, boards, cement blocks, etc that is strong enough to prevent digging. Also I would cover well with lime to decrease any possible odor from rising to the top. I don't remember the type but there is one type that works best for this.

Absolutely not post hole digging 3’-maybe auger lol
Y’all this land is full of huge quartz rocks, and we’re seniors. There’s going to be motors involved.
But, yes, great idea, better than fire in a hardwood forest.

Thanks!

I get that. Texas (least where I am) is solid clay just a few inches down. Practically undiggable
Even worse than that here is you have the red clay for 4’ or so then you have another 4’ or so of this grey slimy smelly stuff underneath.
We cleared our own land and the amount of times we had to use the skiddie to rescue the backhoe or vice versa is ridiculous. 😆

It was fun, to me, anyway lol
