1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
A wild brown leghorn showed up in our subdivision last year, couldn’t find owners. (She prefers independence, so neighbor and I take care of her.) She kept going broody so a friend gave us some eggs……this Easter 9 chicks were born, she was a wonderful Mom! (She’s already broody again, ugh! Dr. Jekyll/ Mrs. Hyde.)
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
4 super sweet hens and a feisty brown leghorn hen……rehomed the roosters and game chicks from our first batch of 9….
(3) What breeds do you have?
red bantam cochins (we think haha)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
so much to learn….great for my grandkids….
