My chickens are 18 1/2 weeks and I have one who has started laying every day. I have put her first six eggs in the refrigerator, not knowing how long it will take for the other girls to start laying. My question is, can I take those first six eggs out of the refrigerator and store them on the counter? I plan on storing them on the counter once they all start laying. Thanks for any feedback that you can offer.

Hello! The only risk from taking them from the fridge back out to the counter, in my opinion, would be forming condensation where bacteria could potentially grow. I would recommend just keeping those in the fridge, (but the risk of them being harmful if you eat them within a reasonable time after them being in the fridge and taking them out and storing them on the counter, is probably fairly low.)

I keep mine on the counter. They will last longer if you refrigerate them, but choose one or the other is the recommended advice I've seen.

Congrats on your first eggs!

I kind of thought that would be the case. Thank you for your reply!!
