I am just introducing myself. My Name is Michelle I have owned chickens for many years of my life but am finally just this year fulfilling one of my childhood dreams and hatching out chicks. It has been going rather smoothly for me so far. I am also taking what I have been learning and trying to teach my daughters what I have been learning. I am here to take advice from others as well as teach others from what I am so very Blessed to have learned over the years! I am no expert in the field of chicken rearing but I really don't think anyone is! I still have room to grow and am here to meet like-minded people who enjoy their feather babies as much as I do. I have Five children Four girls and one boy, and 3 grandsons and want to be able to teach them all the life sustainability of raising yard birds! They deserve to know that their hard work pays off and that this is where their eggs come from. Plus There is something that is extremely gradifying knowing our birds don't have to suffer like the birds that produce eggs and meat in the grocery stores. I feel for them and feel like every chicken we raise here is being saved from that fate. I will attach some photos of
Myself and our birds here below. Thank you for reading this have a wonderful God blessed Day. That's not all of our birds but for some reason it won't let me go back far enough to show you all the rest of our birds these are the babies from my first clutch I hatched out ever from our own eggs. I was so proud of them. They are in a kennel in the coop. Before Iet the chicks free with the other bigger bully hens I put them in there so they can meet the other bigger hens and become used to them then after about a month or whenever they get all there feathers I release them with the rest of the birds. This has been the best way we have found so far.

Hiya, Michelle, and welcome to BYC! :frow

Your method of integration is similar to how many of us do it, but some have ways that may work better for them. Glad you found out the best way for you and your chicks and chickens! :)

We're glad you're here!
