(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to chickens! I purchased my day old chicks in May 2024 so my babies are about 5 months now.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Five ladies and one roo.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Australorps, Brahma, Welsummer, and Americauna
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
It’s so rewarding once your chickies finally warm up to you. I love to be a caregiver so this satisfies those needs too. And you get eggies.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to create, watch movies, hike and be active. Oh yeah and cooking is my jam!!!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a cat lady that is now a chicken lady too. My husband didn’t want chickens but he loves them now and feeds them their favorite, blueberries. They still love me the most.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found you guys through Google, everytime I have a chicken question your page pops up. I figured I might as well join to get answers to my own questions.
