Hi! My name is Kristen and I'm from a small town a little ways from Columbia, SC. I've been "stalking" this forum for a little while and finally decided to join in! I've recently begun raising chickens (in the last few months) and it has become a very enjoyable thing for my whole family-4 kids, the hubby and me! We currently have 2 Australorp hens (at least I believe that's what they are from researching--the girl who gave them to me just said they were "backyard chickens" lol. and 1 Americauna rooster (again, simply what I believe from research). I'm looking into getting 2 Rhode Island Reds as I had some that I had raised to pullets from chicks before about 4 months ago...but some wild creature got them. We are better set up and have a better protected run/coop area for them now. I've learned so much already and can't wait to learn more!!
