I'm Joshua from SC. My wife and I along with our 2 young boys have been doing research to see if we want to add a flock to our little farm. Neither of us have any experience with chickens so we have been on the fence about it but finally decided to make that jump. My main question is how well do chickens interact with goats?

Alright

Well introduce them slowly and the goats will except them

If not the Goat will do what is normal and eat them

Most likely the goats will eat the chicken feed and vice versa. If chicks are very young, they are likely to get stepped on . Older birds may even perch on a goat's back.

Welcome to BYC!

Lots of members keep goats with chickens and they do quite well. Make sure the chicks are fully grown before you introduce the two, and yes, as Drumstick Diva has mention, the goats will eat the chicken feed. But I have heard nothing too negative about keeping the two together.

Good luck with your new poultry adventure and welcome to BYC!
