well im new to the whole chicken scene, i have been around chickens pretty much my whole life but never personally kept them. im looking at getting my first "flock" shorty. i have been looking at getting 2 easter eggers 1 polish and 1 silkie. im building my own hen house and putting up a fence to have a nice free ranging aria in my yard and gardens.

so far my problems have been locating a good breeder that's not going to charge me a arm and leg to ship my fancy peeps.

There are lots of silkie breeders now a days, and people rehoming silkies. Easter Eggers are also common and very beautiful. Polish are pretty common pets as well.

Actually the breeders/sellers aren't charging a lot for shipping, the USPS is charging a lot. It's best if you can get birds close to your home to save them from the
ordeals of shipping.

I have been googleing local breeders in WA but so far i haven't been impressed with the results. Part of the reasons i have joined is to meet local people. Any other people from WA State?
