Hello!! I'm new to the site and I'm in need of some help. I have a buff Orpington hen that is about 7 months old. She started limping last Saturday and now can't walk. I thought it was from the roosters so I gave them to someone. She looked like she had been beaten up (loss of feathers, tired, ext) so I brought her inside. It's been almost a week and now she can't stand and acts as if she may have gape worms ( she holds her neck out and opens her mouth). This is my first year at raising chickens and I was just wondering if anyone had any of these symptoms?

I'm sorry to say, it sounds like partial paralysis.

This could be due to injury, but the other symptoms seem to be pointing to mareks.

I hope this link helps: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/the-great-big-giant-mareks-disease-faq

I hope she gets better soon!

Welcome to BYC!! I wish I could help but I have no experience with this stuff. Good luck!!

You may also want to post in detail at "emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread." Has she laid any eggs ? Has she been eating/drinking at all? Does she have normal poos? Are any other birds showing similar symptoms?
