I'm Kristen from NC and am in the middle of my first hatching! I have two chicks in the "brooder" and two eggs still in the incubater. One has a side pip and I could use some advice.

What do you mean, side pip? Is the chick malpositioned? How long has it been since it pipped?

Sometime between 7 am and 2pm while I was at work. Yes, malpositioned...almost at the center of the egg.

I feel like a complete idiot.....it was a piece of paper towel that had gotten wet and stuck to the side. Not a pip at all
