My name is Holly and I have a couple acres in Tennessee. My family had chickens when I was a kid, but I didn't really take to them. When I bought my house a couple years ago, I decided to get a few. Soon a few turned into a lot. Right now I have 1 handsome Americauna rooster, 9 hens laying, 3 about to lay, and 18 chicks.
The 9 hens that are laying are a mix. I have 4 Americaunas, 2 ISA Browns, 1 hybrid olive egger, and 2 that are supposed to be Aracaunas, but I don't think they are.
My 3 almost layers are pretty Black Copper Marans.
My babies are Barred Rock, Buff Orphingtons, Polish, Easter Eggers, 1 Sicilian Buttercup, and 1 Blue Andalusian.
Besides chickens I have a dog and two cats that love to follow the chickens around the back yard.
I look forward to reading and posting on this site!
