We got a mixture of chicks two years ago and just last weekend got 6 new chicks ( variety). We lost 4 to various predations and one to our male guinea. So now we are rebuilding a new run and they will be more protected.

Thank you. The babes will be ready for outside same time as new area. We think that will make the additions better as everyone will have that “what happened last night??” Moment when they wake up together lol

Great to meet another newbie to the site! I also had some toubles with my pekins last year. We had a racoon problem, so this year my new coop and enclosure will be taller, more secure, and we hopefully took care of the problem as well.
