Welcome to BYC, and best of luck with your future flock. I agree with sourland about Mediterranean breeds. They are better in mild or warm climates, mainly due to their combs getting frostbite during freezes. But anything is possible, just make sure you are prepared and all should be fine.
Now, things to do before setting up your coop. First, make sure that wherever you set it up has good drainage. Higher ground is better. Also make sure the coop is draft free, but that it has ventilation holes at the top of the walls. Moisture needs to be able to escape, in both cold and warm weather. And be sure to make your coop and run predator proof. 1/2 inch hardware cloth is recommended for the run, which should also be covered with either hardware cloth or tarps.
