Becca here. Hey all and thanks for all the wonderful info. I’ve been reading comments and advice from this forum for a long time, but finally just decided to join the community.

Brand new at backyard chickens. Both the forum and actually having chickens.

I have 3 seven week old chicks. Two Barred Rock and one Rhode Island Red. The reason I have older chicks instead of babies is because a friend of mine was giving away her flock.

My chickens seem scared to death of me, but we are getting a routine down at least. Yes, I do (try to) hold them.

I bought a prefab coop, but I’ve built an add-on run for safe ranging.

I’m looking forward to learning a lot from everyone.
