I don't know either but, so glad you joined us at Backyard Chickens, the place for fun, friendship and FACTS about chickens (ducks, quail, pheasants,geese, emu's etc.

Sounds like you're from "my" side of the Pond. Just for the lurkers, a "hectare" is 10,000 square meters - and a square meter is a bit larger than a square yard. And one hectare is a little less than 2.5 acres. (I still have no concept of how big an acre is - even though I spent my first 42 years in the US.)

Anyhow, welcome to the Wonderful World of raising chickens. It's great fun and the eggs are delicious.
