Hi!

I've been reading through BYC for a few weeks now and figured I should finally make an account! I'm planning for chickens next spring, so I'll be asking lots of questions while I plan and get everything set up for them. And I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions once they finally arrive as well lol. Most of the sampler questions don't apply since I don't have chickens yet. Some of my hobbies include hiking, native plant identification, gardening, and dog training/showing. I currently have a four year old Belgian Tervuren named a Gracie and an ornery eleven year old cat from Iraq named Brooke.

@DontChickenOut14 I know I'd like a Barred Rock, Austrolorp (and maybe an Austra White?), and an Easter Egger or two. I'm also thinking about a Black Copper Maran or one of the other Maran varieties. I'm limited to six birds where I am, but I'd like to have a nice variety of egg colors!

Sounds cool! I definitely recommend Easter Eggers, they are the sweetest things!
