Hi my name is Jen and I live in Ohio. This is my 2nd time keeping chickens and I LOVE it! I currently have 16 hens and 2 roosters. The roosters were an accident and are both Silkies. The rest are a mix - 2 each of Silkie, Isa Brown, Jersey Giant, Black Australorp, Mystic Maran, Olive Egger, Easter Egger and Buff Orpington.
They are completely hysterical to watch and I loved learning all their personalities. They will be a year old next month. They enjoyed free ranging all spring and summer long and mostly staying in our yard but by late summer/early fall the neighbors flower beds were too much of a temptation to bear. They now have a huge run that they call home. We have a Pit Bull who enjoys the chickens also as he like to clean up their poop
We love our fresh eggs and the girls that give them to us daily!
