Hi

Or maybe I'm not. Seems that was their only sale and don't have any other information available.
What a shame because I think I got a really good deal. I paid more for my first lot of 12 than I did for them and there’s were far more that arrived with hairline cracks etc. I picked out 7 that were the right shape, size, didn’t have any meat spots, no scrambled air cells etc and set them aside upside down for 24hours. The others were eaten by my snakes/ferrets. One was an early quitter, 3 unfortunately died in the shell. I wonder if this was in part down to my partner accidentally turning off my heat mat and thermostat when for whatever reason he unplugged everything trying to charge his phone half asleep. When i woke up and realised what had happened they were as low as 27c and the power had been off for around 10 hours. I had vivid dreams about seeing them hatch the night before and very nearly threw in the towel right then and there because I knew I couldn’t take the heartbreak if none of them hatched after that, but I candled, got the tank back up to temperature and these little guys are here now.

:welcome :frow I have had the power go out for several hours and the temp dropped to 25.5c. I candled a few eggs and saw movement and used a battery pack with an inverter and got the temperature back up and to my surprise I had a decent hatch. You will find a lot of good information here BYCArticles.jpg Good luck with your birds and have fun...

Thank you 🙏

It is reading stories of hope here that gave me the balls to not give up on them though I was a bit of an emotional wreck and barely slept from then to hatch day! What a rollercoaster. I need to stop taking my pill continuously all these hormones are making me go a bit stupid. I am literally right next to the little guys 90% of the time so the second they make a peep I’m up like YES MAMA IS HERE, WHAT DO YOU REQUIRE, ARE YOU HOT, ARE YOU COLD, ARE YOU HUNGRY, ARE YOU THIRSTY, CAN YOU POOP OK, ARE YOU DYING?!!!! They’re perfectly fine of course, but I’m a worrier. These are my children now.

The power had gone out during the night and when I got up the next morning it was still out. I have a cabinet incubator but since I didn't have many eggs in it I transferred the eggs to a styrofoam incubator and put a towel over it to hopefully hold the heat in more until the power came back on.

The white styrofoam box on the right had eggs that were about to hatch and the box in front had some chicks that had already hatched. I had to keep them warm too. Luckily I had two power supplies.
