Hello and welcome to BYC! I'm so glad you decided to join our friendly and helpful community.

I am a brand new chicken owner. I got my chicks 4 weeks ago. Although, when I was younger my grandma raised chickens and I loved going into the chicken run with her. I have nine Plymouth Barred Rocks that I have absolutely fallen in love with. Although we got the chicks for laying eggs, they are quickly becoming family pets. I also enjoy gardening, canning, sewing, and many other crafts as well. I live in hot, sunny, central Florida with my husband and my 80 year old mom. By day I'm a pediatric home health nurse and the rest of the time I'm mom to 2 dogs we rescued (mom has 2 dogs as well. So we have a busy home.) I found BYC while I was researching raising chickens in Florida.
