Hi, I’m Jan. I have 4 black Jersey Giants 3 hens and a surprise roo called Benny and the Jets. I added 4 light Brahma chicks (pullets) to my flock and now that they are 3 months old I’m finding out once again I ended up with a roo. Guess I can’t call them the spice girls anymore.

If you need to rehome one of the roosters, many folks have had good luck posting to either Craigslist locally or often Facebook will have a poultry interest group you can post to. There is also a Rehoming site here at BYC that you can use as well. In all cases:

1. Be clear about your location (town or county, not your address), so folks know how far they need to drive;
2. If you can tell the breed and breeder of the rooster, include that info;
3. Tell about the bird's temperament. Are they nice with people, with kids? with the hens?
4. Try to include the best glamor shot you can of the rooster to help him find a good home.
