Thank you all for your welcome! I have some local mixed breed layers, a few older Isa browns, which are very popular in my area because of their egg production, but I don't really like them due to the fact that they tend to have really weak immune systems, and they unfortunately have a multitude of other problems after the age of 1.5, when they slow down on egg production drastically, but I do love their personality, they are all very sassy! I also have two (what I believe to be, I made another thread about it) aseel roosters, my latest project, they are honestly so different from the other chickens, and I'm not talking appearance wiseHello, and welcome! What breed or breed's do you have?
Some different breed's do tend to have different personalities and act a bit different from each other. Sometimes even those in the same group of breed will have different personalities also. Good luck!Thank you all for your welcome! Thank you so much! I've been doing a lot of work with him and his brother!Hello, and welcome to BYC! I had to look at your other thread. I don't know anything about the aseel breed, but your rooster is beautiful.
That's nice to hear. So many people just ignore their roosters in favor of the hens.Thank you so much! I've been doing a lot of work with him and his brother!
Yeah, I love my roosters! I've had a mixed breed one fir a couple of years, and I most recently added the two aseel ones (not housed together as aseel are extremely aggressive towards other roosters) they are stunning, and they take care of the hens. Plus, I love hearing them crowing. Aseel have such a rasp, primal crow, it's really amazing! That's nice to hear. So many people just ignore their roosters in favor of the hens.
