Hi

:welcome

Hi, adorable chicks! I agree with @janiedoe about the single crested chick...once a hatchery sent me a bonus single Polish along with my dual purpose chicks and the other chicks tormented the Polish badly.
Yeah, I have noticed the picking of it's head feathers. I've already treated it's head 2x. With a blue spray for chickens, and Neosporin. I will talk to my daughter about it. :(

Also, I have to say that mixing a single polish in with them is a terrible idea. Unfortunately, when a crested bird is the only one in the flock, it generally gets picked on very badly. I wish you the best, but were I you, I'd add some other crested birds to the flock.

That top knot is just too hard for others to resist. I hope you can separate him (her?) and set up a separate flock for the little guy.

Welcome to BYC. They are too young to tell gender. I believe barred rocks would be showing their barring by now.
This is Zipper, we think he's a rooster. Barred Rock. He is much lighter than Coffee. His tail is gorgeous. Kinda resembles a turkey tail with all the white bars on the edges in a beautiful pattern. His wattle has turned red sooner than our other Barred Rock Coffee.
