Hi, I am currently in charge of the school chickens which we have had for about 7 years now. Most are rescued, although a few have been brought or donated. We are now up to a flock of 10, with 8 ladies and 2 boys (1 boy is just coming of age as was born in May).
We have mix of Bantams, 1 ex battery hen (as the rest rescued passed on now) and the newest 3 born in May are 2 Buff Orpington females and my boy who is a Brahma x Plymouth Barr Rock. We don't know the breed of our rooster. They all cohabit lovely and are so happy together.
I love all the hens and the kids love looking after them too. All of them have a diagnosis of Autism so they are therapy to lots of them.
As well as looking after the chickens, I am currently learning British Sign Language and have just taken Level 3 exams and love singing and horse riding.
I am also a mum to a 14 year old boy who has ADHD and Autism so life can be very busy but wouldn't have it any other way.
I have been following this board for a while and got so many great tips and advice so thought it was time to join
