My name is Bonnie and i'm thinking about getting laying hens. Haven't decided on tractor or permanent coop yet. I live in Prince George BC .

Welcome! I am new my self and everyone has been very inviting!
Bonnie I personally started with something very small and then quickly grew to something larger. I would seriously consider looking at something bigger then a chicken tractor. If you look at my avatar, I built mine for under 200 hundred dollars. Seems like a lot, however you flock will grow fast and enjoy the space.

I am a fan of the permenant coop style coop housing. But it is totally up to you and how you want to keep your birds.

Good luck with your babies and enjoy BYC!

Like permanent coops - think they are safer (predator-wise) and at least give headroom for the birds. Many tractors are so short the birds have to hunch over all the time. No way to spread their wings.
