Hi

Thanks everyone! :D
I have Sussex's and Kraeinkoppe. My first hatch was 5 weeks ago after the Kraeinkoppe was broody and we picked up a mixed batch of eggs from a local farm. Welsummers and Marans hatched so fingers crossed there might be a pullet but I'm not counting my eggs! I've also got some eggs in the incubator due to hatch on Monday I've been trying to get Australorps but they are very few and far between here I have only found two places to get eggs and finally got some and unfortunately only 2 were fertile so I'm hoping they will hatch I also got some more eggs as I wanted to fill the incubator some Marans cross and 2 misc eggs that I had sent via mail so fingers crossed for a couple of pullets.

I've had Speckled Sussex, Welsummers, and Cuckoo Marans, but I never had Kraeinkoppes (I don't know that I've ever even seen any), although I've heard they're good layers. However Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed. They are extremely hardy, calm and gentle, and the best layers of the brown egg laying breeds (Sex Links will outlay them, but they are hybrids and don't breed true). I hope you are able to get your Australorps. Good luck.

Wecome to BYC hope you hatch some pullets.
