We got an egg!! I heard what I thought was egg song and went into the coop, Princess was in the nest box pecking at the wall, and singing, I had an appointment but after a couple hours Wendy sent me this pic in a text!!! Praise God they do make eggs!! 16 chickens raised for 18 and 3/4 weeks. what a great reward! thank You Lord!


it's a pretty good size for her first egg from what I understand!! about a medium it's next to our fake egg which is a plastic easter egg filled with plaster glued shut and painted grey (closest color to brown I had)
15 more hens to lay!!!

Congratulations! Yep, they really do lay eggs, lol.

Now that one has started, don't be surprised if the others her same age start too. Our 16 youngest have begun (about 1/2 of them so far) and it's funny seeing all the coming & going from the coop where their boxes are.

Way to go, that 1st one is the best!
