Skye couldn't find her book when she reached out for it. Opening her eyes, she found it lying near her feet. Drawing it closer she held it to her chest, and then looked to where Mark had walked off. Did he read it? If so how much does he know about me? She wondered, worriedly.
Buchanan shook his head in disagreement. "I'm am glad to accompany you, though I am not used to riding in this 'car'. Please do not worry, Carrow, you have nothing to be sorry about. Besides, I would like to pick out the pocket knife myself." He thought for a moment, wondering if he should continue or not. "I have tried your way, Carrow. Now you must try mine. After we pick out a knife I would like you to walk me to the city border, then I can carry you to the mountains in my natural form." He smiled, remembering how much he missed traveling on his paws.
~
Astrid grinned inwardly, but told him in a very serious voice, "Yes, it is very delicious. Definitely something you must try." Walking over to the counter she ordered some popcorn, and after giving the man some money received a bag. She turned to Raine, and held the popcorn.

Carrow remained quiet until she reached the strip mall with the pawn shop. She glided into a parking spot and cut the engine off. She sat there a moment before replying, "Buchanan, I must be honest, I'm not sure you'll be safe around me. That human I was talking about, Nix. He could become a problem. I just don't want you to get caught in the crossfire. I really don't know what he's capable of. The look on his face tonight.....that has bothered me ever since we drove away. You tempt me greatly, but it has been so long since I've lived in the wild. I'm very worried about you and very scared for myself." She looked over at him, with a light sheen of tears in her golden eyes.

Raine watched Astrid's face, as he reached out and got one yellow ball thing. He slowly brought it to his mouth and placed it on his tongue. His eyes went wide and then closed in pure enjoyment. He slowly chewed it, when he swallowed, he smiled again. "Wow! You were absolutely right. That is so delicious." He said happily.
Buchanan looked her straight in the eye. "Carrow, I will never leave you. I am not afraid of the man, if I need to I can protect you. Being a Wolverine I am incredibly strong. As long as I'm alive, that man not harm you."
~
Astrid giggled, but noticing the time quickly rushed them down the hall.

( Very nice!! :D )

Carrow looked down and nodded her head slowly in agreement. She then quietly wiped her eyes with her hand. When she put her hand back down in her lap to play with the keys. She had noticed that they'd began to shake. "Just look at me, Buchanan. I'm such an emotional mess. Please, you must believe me, I'm not like this! This isn't me, I'm stronger then this!" She said becoming angry with herself for her weakness. But she knew where it was coming from. Because in the back of her mind, there was an unspoken fear. What if she couldn't turn into an eagle anymore. What if this human self was all that was left of the being she had been. She slowly raised her head and looked at Buchanan, shaking all over now. She didn't want to be alone anymore, she didn't want to lose his friendship.

Raine let Astrid pull him along, he didn't understand the importance or the rush. But if she wanted to hurry, so be it.

Mark was gone for a while, then came back with a big fish in his jaws, still in wolf form. He went to put it on the kitchen area then licked his muzzle before shifting and starting to clean it,

Tuktu woke up behind the hotel. "What had happened?" He asked himself. He was in his animal form for some reason, why? Faline was also in her animal form lying next to him. A small snip went through her ear, what the? Was that a mark? He looked closer at the snip in her ear as she slept. What is that from? Tuktu shook his head trying to remember what had happened last night. The memories weren't coming as fast as he had hoped but we're coming back to him. He was going to walk Faline about the park, then decided to go around the corner toward an alleyway... He spotted a group of men, scars and tattoos along there arms... tuktu stepped in front of Faline in case they decided to harm them... one the men looked at the both of them and gave a devilish grin, walking toward them, tuktu began to panic. He didn't want his fawn to get harmed so he head butted the man who was beginning to pull out a knife before being knocked down... automatically the leader knew they must have been shifters because, well what man headbutts another? The leader went at them both injecting them both with some sort of drug he kept in his jacket pocket. Both tuktu and faline automatically shifted to their animal form and couldn't turn back... the men held down Tuktu desperately trying to get to faline who was being held down by the leader, he took the knife and cut a small snip out of her ear. She winced in pain but thankfully there wasn't any blood. Tuktu also had his ear cut, then the leader stood while theme held them down. "You are animals and should stay that way! Stay out of our human lives and stay where you stinking animals belong!" The leader yelled at them both then lead his men away down the alley... Tuktu tried desperately to shift back but couldn't, he looked at faline who was shuffling toward him and snuggling into his fur...

Tuktu nudged Faline to wake up. Faline opened her eyes slightly and looked up at him, then she let out a big yawn. Tuktu had noticed that Faline's spots along her back were fading earlier than he thought. He sighed and nudged her again and stood. They were still in the alley, the concrete holding up himself was uncomfortable for his hooves. He shook his head and tried to shift but it didn't work, had the men taken the power from them? How?

Faline stood up next to her father and shook the pebbles from her fur. She too had noticed that she was already beginning to grow in her adult color as her fawn color was fading, but she didn't pay much mind to it. "Where are we gonna go, dad, I can't shift. And I don't think you can either." She stated. looking up into Tuktu' s eyes.

He looked down into her hopeful eyes. "Back home." He said

Faline smiled. Tuktu lead the way back to the forest and stopped next to a large tree to scrape his antlers

Faline tilted her head. "What are you doing?" She asked him.

Tuktu looked at her "I'm sharpening my antlers." He said

Faline nodded "Why do you need to do that?" She asked again

Tuktu lifted his head "Only bucks do it so..." He looked at her remembering how you'd she was. "You'll learn when you are a doe." He told her then walked to a stream to drink.

Faline was confused. Why? She shrugged and drank along with him

Anna was worried about Tuktu and Faline. She hadn't seen either one return the night before. Frowning, she grabbed her camera and set off to try to find her friends and make sure they were alright and safe somewhere.

Buchanan looked her straight in the eye. "Carrow, I will never leave you. I am not afraid of the man, if I need to I can protect you. Being a Wolverine I am incredibly strong. As long as I'm alive, that man not harm you."

Buchanan reached out and held her hand. "You're stronger than this." He looked straight into her eyes. "Just like all the others shifters its hard to adjust. But I have never seen anyone handle it better than you." He said with a comforting smile.
~
Astrid stopped infront of a large door. Pulling it open she held it for Raine.
(Thanks, I learned from the best ;) )

Skye silenty stared down at her journal. "You read my journal, didn't you?" She asked, already knowing the answer. Without looking up she sighed deeply.

Mark glanced to her then looked back to the fish. "I do not understand humans." He said then shrugged "I read that last page then closed it and set it so you wouldn't roll onto it while sleeping." He was quiet for a while then put the skinning knife down and came over to her, kneeling down beside her and tilting his head at her "You could teach me?"

Cadeon just sat there on the bike and watched her curious movements. But didnt say anything further. He'd never been on a thing such as this. He was looking forward to the ride.

She took his arms and rapped them around her chest "hold on tight if you don't you could fall off" she turned her bike on and reaves it's engine, "you ready?" she asked smiling
