Graydon sighed softly, "You would think they were at the door trying to get in, by the way I'm acting. " He said a bit embarrassed.

"Oh, and flattery will get you everything." He teased Jackie. He perked up as he heard and smelled water. He started trotting once again to get there faster.

Orson twined his neck with Kristen's and adored this time to bond together. "I could spend an eternity in this moment." He whispered softly to her.

Cadeon watched in wonder as he strained to hear anything. As Ember shifted back and returned to him. When she translated, he chuckled lightly. "That's just another wondrous thing about you, my love." He said truthfully.

Aeval glanced to the cube and dismissed it from existence. The first time without actually blowing on it. "Oh! Did you see that?! I've never been able to do that before. " She said excitedly.

Ericsson kissed Rosie's delicate nose as he noted her speechlessness. "Aw, you're at my mercy. What ever shall I do with you?" He asked playfully. He'd decidedly focused on the good things and not the ones that were beyond his control.

Jaxon melted into Skylar's embrace. He closed his eyes in pure bliss. "Yes we did. Though I had my doubts at first. " He said with happiness.

"Then we're in for a world of hurt, if that thing is awake. " Markus stated simply as he to look out at the scenery deep in thought.

Xavier looked to Don and frowned. He then swallowed hard, " I've heard tales of the sleeping giant. "Looked to Markus and snapped, "I know enough not to mess with such things!"

Markus calmly turned to look at Xavier and said in a death calm voice, " If I didn't need that mutinous maggot of a tongue, I would have cut it from your person and fed it to my pet. You'd best take stock and mind your mouth."

Xavier grumbled and glared at Markus, but didn't say anything further.

Zypher shifted and came back under the fence to join the group. He nodded to Nashton and gave him a pat on the back. "Good one boy! " He then headed back to the truck. When something occur to him. "Wait, if your father called you, did he use his phone? If he did, we have a tracker on that helicopter. " He said with renewed hope.

Ackley followed along with Nashton in the rear. She looked him over with a smile. Nashton shook his head. "My girlfriend's that crazy lion. Just saying. " Ackley's eyes widened and she looked away with a vigorous nod.

Star nodded, waiting for the plate for Kackdaw so they could take it to him and try to speak with him .

Kyra shook her head and smiled up at him. "No, we would be warned before they reached our tree. They frighten both of us and the forest will feel that and try to reject them." She explained then shrugged. "It isn't foolproof, but it would at the least give us time."

Jackie smiled and checked to be sure she still had that reed on her necklace so she wouldn't have to worry about drowning once they entered the water.

Kristen twirled agin, loving this timw. "As could I, my love. I do not want to part from you. " She said gently through their link.

Ember smiled and kissed him gently then settled back in place again. She was happy where she was and didn't want to move.

Aurora chuckled and nodded. "You are already starting to get stronger now that you are learning more." She said happily. She was glad for Aeval and knew she would learn quickly. She raised her wings and flew over the twins to get them to come back with them.

Rosie blushed and dipped her head at that, hiding against his chest. "I don't know, what would you like to do?" She teased shyly.

Skylar smiled at him and looked to him. "I never doubted that we would get it." She said softly. She moved back a little then looked to the picture the puzzle made and smiled. "Even though it is an advanced one."

"That is the value of keeping the lorekeepers safe. They can explain why you shouldn't mess with certain things, if their words are heeded." Don said, looking out his side again. "We could certainly use their wisdom now."

Anna smiled at that and nodded. "Yes, it was his phone." She said and came to his side to walk beside him until they had to get in the truck again. "But he already told me where they are going anyway. Maybe we can access the camera and try to see what is happening though."

Soon enough the server brought out the covered plate to them and set it on the table. Falkirk smiled to Star as he stood up. "I'm sure there's an ironic twist to this if one looks hard enough. Two herbivores bringing dinner to a carnivore. Sounds like the beginning to a bad joke." He laughed as he offered his hand to assist her up.

Graydon was comforted by her logic. The tree had helped before, so he knew it to be fact. "You're right, I'm overreacting, yet again." He said reflectively.

Bertram stepped into the water and walked in at an easy pace. He looked back to Jackie and made sure she still had her reed on her person. He then preceded on. Walking on the bottom as the water slowly swallowed them up.

"That is very good news then. Because if ever we did get separated, I'd be like Pepe lepew, who always found his black cat." Orson teased with a mischievous smile, as he twirled to Kristen.

Cadeon sighed softly and closed his eyes to focus on being close to Ember.

Aeval glanced around the beach, before shifting to follow Aurora and her family.

"Well, if I remember correctly. We have unfinished business. I still need to find your ticklish spot. Because I refuse to believe you don't have one." Ericsson said with enthusiasm. He then made to tickle her.

Jaxon looked down to the challenging puzzle. "Yes, but I liked how it made us work for the prize of completion. Some can say, they started it, but we finished it. " He replied happily.

Don's words drew Markus attention from Xavier. "Yes, perhaps. But don't think I forgot that you never answered my earlier question about what species the lorekeepers were. I may have one in my Menagerie." (I know he doesn't have one, because Angela is free somewhere with Kyth.)

Xavier looked to Don curiously.

Zypher slung the small duffel over his shoulder to free up his hand to take Anna's. "And Markus isn't above deceptions? I'll never take Markus at his word. In this instant, I'll stick to seeing is believing. Then we'll go from there. Forgive me, Anna. I meant no disrespect to your father. I know he's beyond reproach."

Starr smiled and took his hand to stand. She chuckled lightly and nodded "It may be a bit strange, but it is now truth." She said as they started to walk together with the plate

Kyra smiled and patted his arm lightly "Perhaps we all are, they may never come here. We can hope they will not anyway" She said gently then shivered lightly "But if they do and we must fight them, be careful of their poison, it can paralyze and make you nothing more than a meal to them."

Jackie put the reed in her mouth to breath through as they went underwater. She couldn't wait to show him this place and how pretty it was. Finding it had been an accident, but one she was happy of now.

Kristen laughed at that and snuggled close to him "Except I am not running from you" She pointed out with a return twirl. "And Pepe is always running, either after a girl, or away from one"

Ember had closed her eyes also, listening to his heartbeat and the birds. She jumped a little when the phone rang inside, though not much.

Once they were all flying, Aurora glanced back to the ocean, calling a larger wave to 'clean' the beach of any sign of their being there and any remaining acid from her practice. Once done, she continued to take the girls back to the house they were staying at now.

Rosie looked up at him with wide eyes then shook her head "You don't have to do that" She said then turned to leave, glancing back often to see if he was following. She did not want him to run, but being up and moving was not a bad thing.

"That we did" Skylar said also looking to the puzzle then standing when the phone rand, startling her since she didn't expect any calls here. She frowned and headed to answer it.

Don frowned and sighed, shaking his head "They are only a small part of the whole of their species, peaceful and without malice. Even humans call them a 'bird of peace'" He said then looked at Marcus "If you have a white dove, it is possible it is a lorekeeper, though I doubt it. It is in their nature to die if kept caged for long. One species that truly requires freedom and the forest to live and now their forest home is gone forever and likely them with it. I do not see how any could have survived that destruction" He said, studying the man's face for any reaction.

"THe sleeping giant was one of Jason's favorite stories growing up, we must have heard it a hundred times. Anytime he could get a lorekeeper to tell it to him, he would try. Jason and I know exactly where the giant lies, even if Marcus did try to hide the real location." Anna said as she pulled out her phone again to try to get a hold of Jackie "But if the spell-stone has been removed, it will need a witch to seal it back to the giant again. A thousand years is not nearly long enough to calm a rage like his was"

Once underwater, Bertram galloped along the bottom until he saw a rainbow glow from below. He headed to the shore of the underground cavern. He was speechless at it beauty. He projected his awe as he said, "This is the most wondrous place I've ever seen."

"I'm glad you're not running from me." Orson replied mentally as he began grooming her orange mane. "Because I'd never want to conquer you, my heart. We are equal partners in this life of ours."

Cadeon also jumped. Not for the phone, but because of Ember's slight start. "I hope that's not the world falling apart again." He said with trepidation.

Pandora and Ena watched in curiously as Aurora did her thing. Pandora looked to Aeval and said, " You missed it. It was so magical. " Aeval glanced to her sisters and said with annoyance, "one of us has to fly this thing. But since you both seen to have the attention of a dung beetle, I'll do it." Ena gasped, "That hurts! She just called us poo balling beetles!" She said with a pout.

Markus chuckled ironically as he looked over to Don. "A white dove? Well, I did have one. But she didn't die in captivity, as well you know. She was freed by you and your rabble. So the ball is back in you court." He said with a flare of temper, as his look turned to a glare.

Jackie smiled and looked around also. "Yes, it is. I wanted you to see it. This is my secret place. The only way in is through the water, though if needed, we could make ways out. This is where I come when I need to recharge or just get away from the world for a while." She said then laughed "This is why I had to learn to make these reed air pockets, to get into here."

"Equal partners" Kristen agreed happily. She loved the feeling of having him grooming her mane, so she started to groom his also.

Ember sighed and looked up to him "What are the chances it's a wrong number?" She asked quietly then shook her head and looked to the door to wait and see who was needed.

"Actually she only said you have a short attention span" Estelle said from her side, watching the three headed dragoness. "That's not always a bad thing, but it can get you in trouble sometimes."

"Yeah, especially when you are learning about fire" Elle added and giggled "That did not go over well"

Estelle giggled also and glanced to her twin then back to Aeval "Actually dung beetles have a great attention span, they have to to keep the poo rolling in the right way for so many hours" The two girls then erupted in laughter just from being able to say poo without getting in trouble for it.

"Then I will frighten that monster away" Rosie said as she went back to the bedroom to hide behind the closed door.

Skylar spoke with Anna, explaining that everyone had gone out at the moment when she started asking about where they were.

Anna sighed and gave her a message to pass on whenever they returned or could get the message to Jackie.

"We did?" Don asked and frowned in thought"Ah, they did mention an orphan child. Do you really think a child would have enough of the stories memorized to be of any help?" He asked and looked back to Marcus "She will never be able to learn all those stories now. They don't believe in writing them all down, they believe in the tradition of learning them through the telling. Without the elders, she will have no one to learn them from." He said then shook his head sadly and looked to the window again. He was quiet a moment then hit the window "If they had just come to us instead of staying at their tree..." He sighed and put his fingers to the bridge of his nose.

Bertram shifted to human and spun around to gently catch Jackie in his arms. He then eased down on the shore and sat with her in his lap. "You honor me greatly by sharing you inner sanctum and finding me worthy of letting me into it." He spoke softly as he leaned forward to cradle her cheeks and kiss her tenderly.

Pandora burst out laughing. "Oh, that was a good one, Estelle! Same to you sis!" She then turned to focus on Estelle, then Elle. " Now, do tell about this fire mishap. Inquiring minds want to know." She asked with enthusiasm, ignoring Aeval mental mumbling.

Markus had listened and shrugged. "In out lack of other options, she's probably our best chance. It strikes me that none of you though to keep a back up for this very reason. If the spoke the oral history, then write it down later. They wouldn't have need to know. It wasn't just their history they were keeping, but everyone's. " He stated coolly as he glanced back to Don. "Hindsite 20/20." He added with a wink.
