The gaurd heard footsteps, so he turned to look down the hallway. That's when he saw Ashton and the others. He returned his gaze to Azure and asked, "How is Vaughan? "

Ashton sighed and said "scrapped and bruised, but he's on the mend." Ashton thought of an idea that maybe no one would get hurt. "I have to do some X-rays on these two. So I need their collars off. Because they interfere with the X-ray machine." She explained.

The gaurd looked at her slightly suspicious. "Did Markus authorized this?" He asked her.

"No, Fetch, I just take random shifters and X-ray them. What do you think?! Look, don't do it! That's fine with me. You know I've been working for twelve hours strat, already. First it was that gunshot, then the mermaid mess and now this. I just need some rest, but I have to do this! So why don't you go and bother Markus. That way you can verify his orders. You know how he loves that. I'm sure he'll be understanding. " She sarcastically. But inside she was a ball of raw nerves. She held her bag tightly in one hand and her other shoved deeply in her pocket. To keep their shaking under control.

Fetch looked at her hard a few moments, before he said, "That won't be necessary. I'll just take them off. Which one do you need first? "

Ashton looked over at them and asked, "Any volunteers? "

Arran smiled happily at that. "Oh, thank goodness. Those jackals eat people. I've never seen a wolf shifter." She said softly.

Nektar tipped his head as he listened intently.

Graydon chuckled. "Now that makes no sense. How can something invisible be bad?" He asked naively.

Zypher quickly followed. Watching for any gaurds that may see them.

Sergio stared at Jackie as she drove. "This is a car? Is it alive? " She whispered softly.

Falkirk smiled pleasantly and offered his elbow for her to take it. "Shall we, then?" He asked formally.

Ericsson brightened and said, "No thanks required. The time we spent together was wonderful. Thank you for indulging me. I'm glad I still have some cooking skills after years of non-use."

Anna had lowered her gaze once she realized what Ashton was doing. She let herself look the part of a scared prisoner as she took a single, reluctant step closer to the guard but didn't meet his gaze. She listened carefully so she would hear the spell, knowing they would need that information later.

Ember blinked and looked at Arran then shook her head "That is sad, but understandable. No one likes to be cooped up where they cannot see the sun, and herd animals are not meant to be alone, that can mess up their minds, especially if done from an early age."

Angela shivered a little and glanced to Arran then back to Nektar. Even the short time she had been alone in her room, before the doves and Arran had been hard for her. She couldn't imagine only having a brother for a long time like they seemed to be talking about

Ember slowed to a stop and motioned to the hallway they jut reached "This is the last place I saw her at" She said then reached up to tug at the collar she wore before dropping her hand to her side.

Kyra blinked then frowned,thinking of how to explain that. "Well, it's like my power. You cannot see the energy, but if I concentrate enough, I can kill with it. The wind can be the same. It can gather up in a swirling clout and tear a forest apart in seconds. I have seen a wrong gust of wind make birds fall from the sky before too" She said quietly.

Jackie chuckled and shook her head a little "No, it's not alive. It's a machine. We give it gas and keep the parts working right, and it gets us where we need to go, especially if it's too far to walk or you have to carry something heavy."

"What is that saying? It's like riding a bike" Rosie said and chuckled then shook her head "That's one I don't understand, riding a bike is hard"

"Oh I hate her sometimes!" Taylor said with a laugh,"Seriously?" She hugged him tightly,"Thanks for telling me. I'm glad she likes you. I'm so happy that we won't have her staring down our backs constantly, but if we let her go crazy over us... Well she'll have our whole lives planned out for us!" She warned.

"Now I know that's a lie. But something tells me, she'll still be staring down our backs. That’s just what big sisters do. So get used to it. " Nashton said with humor.

Taylor sighed then hugged him,"Ah well. I guess you can't have everything." She laughed,"But we can have Nisha staring down our backs! Woohoo!"

Nisha scowled,"Just know I'm getting Taylor out of here ASAP. And Nashton too I guess."

Aaran nodded,"I couldn't feel anything without hurting someone. If someone told a good joke around me the whole room could be covered in a few seconds. Everyone tried to make up explainations for my powers and tried to keep it under wraps but I just got scared." He sent another piece of ice into the target,"And when I got scared I hurt people."

Kristen laughed,"I was just using you as a pillow. It's not my fault that I snuggle when I sleep."

Enoch sighed, thinking about his own troubles. "In doing so, you became a self fulfilling prophecy. Which just fed into the stigma, making it all the worse." He said tonelessly.

"Then that makes us good bed fellows. Your my blanket and I'm your pillow. A match made of convenience." Orson said thoughtfully.

"Exactly." Aaran nodded and looked at him curiously,"And you've had a similar experience?"

Kristen smiled,"Yeah, I guess you could say that. It was destiny that brought us together!" She joked,"But you make a very lovely pillow."

Ashton dropped her bag on the metal table and said, "Do you have a PhD? No? Big surprise there! Well, she has a posable dislocation of the collar bone if not a hairline fracture. He wants her captured, not crippled. Now can you get back to doing your job, instead of having me trying to teach you mine?" She said in annoyance.

Fetch looked at her with hate-filled eyes. "You think you're better then everyone else, don't you?" He replied with contempt. He then looked at Anna and whispered the release spell. The collar made a click as it disengaged.

Arran nodded understanding. "It makes sense and some of these gaurds deserve what they have coming. But there are a few that are decent. " She said sadly.

Nektar looked away. For he had a hard time believing that. He'd only met the mean ones.

Graydon took it all in and said, "So wind is magic. Well in a way. It's just strange. Luis had fans, but that wind was predictable. Outside wind, not so much. But thanks for teaching me, Kyra. Where are we to go now?"

Falkirk smiled as he walked over to his father. "My father was on an errand for the queen. That is why he was absent during introductions." He explained.

Calystia turned to look at him, her eyes glazed as she was deep in thought. "What if it was my sister, rescuing her? Maybe she's somehow alive!"

Idris looked at him questioningly. "He could have reconizged me from the arrest papers they have all over town."

Jackdaw smiled softly at Dawn. "We can head back if you want. I'd you are to tired, I'll carry you." He offered helpfully.
