Asclepius strode down the street, hands in his pockets. He was done baiting criminals for the night, and besides, he'd need a new suit and dinner. He realized that he would need clothes before dinner; jewelers tended to frown on shabby looking patrons. He headed to a suit shop, but he didn't really want to wait for tailoring, so he modified his body slightly so that the suit he liked would fit perfectly. The tailor, after handing him the suit in the fitting room, was rather perplexed when he came out fitting the selected suit way more perfectly than he thought he would going in. Screwing up his face with a perplexed look, the tailor cocked an eyebrow as Asclepius pulled out a wad of cash from his pocket. He handed him a hundred dollars more than the suit was worth, but as he was making change, Asclepius was already walking away wearing the new suit, waving his hand dismissively. "Keep the change," he called back.
He was starving. Asclepius cast a gem location spell under his breath, visualizing where any nearby gems were. His eyes flitted to a nearby jewelry store, with a large loose stone collection. He strode in, sniffing the earthy bouquet as he sauntered up to the loose gemstone counter. His eyes sparkled gold momentarily as he anticipated dinner. He waves the jeweler over, reaching into his coat for a fist sized uncut gemstone of remarkable clarity. " Can I make a trade, of this stone, for all of these stones?"
The jeweler's jaw nearly hit the floor seeing so large a sapphire, but he stopped himself. " I'm going to need to look at that gemstone first, if you don't mind sir," he insisted.
"Of course!" Answered Asclepius, dismissively dropping the huge uncut stone into his waiting hands. Taking out his jeweler's loupe, he scrutinized over the whole surface of the sapphire, marveling its clarity and color. " Is this.. a yogo sapphire? Where did you get one of this size? This is incredible! I could cut a lot of gems from this stone.. "
"So, can I have these cut gems for that uncut one? I'd like an answer please." His eyes flitted hungerly over the crunchy little cut gemstones. " Oh, and could I get some saltwater pearls too? I've got a big project in mind," he stated.
Looking up from the uncut stone, the jeweler agreed, hesitation in his voice. " How about all the gems at this counter, but no natural diamonds. Is that alright?"
Asclepius smiled. " Deal! Please, just in a cloth bag." The deal was made, and the cut gems and pearls were piled in a bag for him and he left the jeweler's shop. He started popping the gems like candy.
