I received 6mo old 2 bantams from a farm where I got some earlier. All my previous additions had been very young, not yet laying. These two had already begun laying before coming to me. Ever since I got them (3 weeks ago) I have not gotten an egg from them. Fairly certain they are laying somewhere in the area they can free-range in, I kept them in the coop for two days so they would lay in one of the boxes. Both days I found nothing but bits of egg shells in the boxes. So i think when not cooped they may also be laying then eating the eggs. They get lots of food, so that isn't the issue.
Looking for ideas how to get them to lay, preferably in the coop, and not eat the eggs.
Thanks!
Kim
