Hiding The Game Camera

I need some suggestion on how to hide a game camera from the 2 legged predators

We are thinking of build some birds nest boxes as dummies and hiding the camera in there.

The area we are putting it in does have some ground cover.

Any ideas?

That should work fine.
I do that to hide some gate keys in​

the game cam will shoot any movement.. if the chicken is in there it will shoot alot and waste your batteries.. we have ours aimed at the coop so if anyone goes to the door we can see.. you can put it on a tree or your house or even above the door so it faces out. coop post? anywhere really. i would think if in a nest box the view will only be of a little bit of body.

A more accurate term would have been "Bird House"

If you mount the camera inside with the lens in the "entrance hole", you get a full view
I dont think they meant "nest box" as for a chicken

I hide keys in a bird house with the entrance blocked and painted black so it LOOKS like there is a hole, but birds and wasps can't enter​

when you mount the camera inside a bird house, do you find bees and wasps move in also? We have that problem here. Wouldn't want to reach in for the camera and get a painful surprise.

Go to the feed store and buy an ear tag for cattle. Put it in the box and the wasps will not be a problem.

Some have insect (fly) repellent
I'm not sure if they would work for wasps.

If you're careful building the box and mounting the camera, there won't be anywhere for wasps to enter.

In my fake ones, i put screen over the inside of the entrance hole, and paint it black so it looks real​

The birdhouse is a good idea but will only take daytime pictures. Even the IR no flash cameras have a light that we can't see to illuminate the picture. If there is a tree nearby you would be suprised how many people never look up. Especially if they are looking around for two legged gaurdians. Either way a flash will let them know they are busted and your camera will leave with them. Good luck.

Thanks for the ideas.

the camera I got has an On/Off switch for the flash. Wish I did get the IR one, but gotta get what you can.
Going to make a few bird houses and set them up around the area and that way they will have no idea what is in them. Make them look real and hide the camera in one.
