A good friend and fellow fishgeek and chickengeek turned me on to Backyardchickens, Chickencop. Me I'm a former FFA National Gold Medal winner in Poultry Production, multiple Best in Show and Best Dozen Eggs winner in 4H, with Araucana's before they were added to the APA and before they were turned into the genetic mutants they are today, all back in the 70's and 80's. I'm a founding member of the Circle City Aqarium Club, I have a degree in Biology/Anthropology with an intrest in genetics. At home we have sort of a zoo thing going on, 3 dogs ( 2 Samoyeds and 1 Catahula) 2 cats , 3 snakes ( Ball Pythons) assorted frogs, and countless fish in aquariums and garden ponds. We just added chickens to the list this year, my son joined 4H and wanted to do poultry so how could I say no. We have Ameraucanas, W/C Black Polish, Naked Necks, Sultans, Blue Cochins and Blue Silkies. We recently added Russian Orloffs, Blue Mile Fluers, Old English Game Birds, Black Rose Combs, Sebrights and Gold Laced Wyandottes chicks.
