I have 4 Silver Laced Wyndottes and 4 Buff Orpingtons in my 5' diameter master bathtub. They are fluffing/dusting in the pine shavings and coating my entire bathroom with silty dust daily, causing a ruckus sometimes clanking feeder and waterer around and these girlies don't smell like roses. I'm ready to move them OUT to the coop. Nights will be in high 30s next week, when the chicks will be 8 weeks old. They have a covered run protected from rain and wind, plus an insulted coop that I can close up at night. I don't want to run a cord out to attach heat lamp. Will they be okay? I also read in one of my chicken books that chicks shouldn't be in complete darkness, but it is dark out there at night... Any thoughts?
