HIGH HUMIDITY WHILE INCUBATING DUCKLING EGGS

PHOTOS ADDED. It's hard to do it at the same time as candling since the eggs are at 20 days now. Some are only at 14 days though.

What about keeping them up and down? the point is down and blunt side up. Is that dangerous for hatching and incubating?
I see what you mean about the air cells! Yes keeping point down is commonly done in the case of bad air cells, and some turners have them this way- it wong harm them at all. Though you are supposed to tilt them, in place of turning them. Especially for the younger ones.
When it comes to hatching, in lockdown, Im not sure if you should keep them point down or lie on their sides, so someone else would advise better on that note. But its fine to have them stood up during incubation-dont worry!

Thank you!! Mine were on their side in the incubator with the auto turner and it worked. I made sure that the eggs were in fact turning. Those air cells had me questioning what I could do to increase my hatch success rate.
I think you're doing good, especially as a first time hatcher! Many night think that everyone does it with everything they need in their first hatching group, but a lot of people don't know much yet

My biggest concern is that a bunch of living baby ducks die due to my ignorance, and I will feel awful if that happens.

Do you think the humidity is good the way it is or lower it a bit? i have it on 75% due to those air cells. LD is on Monday.

I knew that I would fight the humidity living in a very humid place. However, I feel like the humidity being lower may mess up those cells more. We shall see. thank you for the encouragement. I did some research, but really until you hatch you don't know what questions to ask or even what to look for. Nobody comes out of college an expert and we pay for that, lol.

Can you please post pictures of your air cells?
See below :). Should I hatch them in a carton up and down or at an angle? I don't want them smashing into each other since there are 12 eggs.

I'd do at an angle but 1-6 aren't ready for lock down yet. :]
Thank you! We aren't locking down until Sunday or Monday. That is the time frame given based on 28 days for the Khaki Campbells. I am so excited! Pray they pop like popcorn! 🤣🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🐣🐣🐣🐣

I have a mama Muscovy sitting on eggs right now! Here in the humid south of South Carolina I haven’t had any problems, I let the hens take care of them.

I live in a residential neighborhood, and we can't personally keep poultry for long periods of time. But I love the idea of new life and I love all birds!

eggs 1-6 probably won't be ready for lock down until next Wednesday- Thursday but the others should do great! Everything looks good, I hope they do well!
