HIGH SPRINGS FLORIDA!!!

I would love to get more, but my wife has cut me off at 11 and a duck.(the ducks actually hers) Plus I am alittle unclear on the codes in High Springs. I am in city limits. I read it and it says "there will be no poultry "productions" within city limits", I concider mine as pets. I've talked to my nieghbors and they ar all cool with it, even the roosters. But still worry about it. I am in the middle of putting up a privacy fence now.

We are lucky here. We are 1 mile outside of the limits. My neighbors across from me have camels and a zebra. My chickens, ducks and guineas seem tame in comparison. We can also hear the Camp Kalaqua zoo. When the lion used to roar in the evenings it would make the hair stand up on the back of your neck....Very errrrie!!! Haven't heard him in a while. DD has a field trip there this week. I will have to have her check to make sure they still have their lion.
We had one of thier peacocks on our roof last year. Apparently he goes roaming every spring

A ZOO?! Really?! COOL! I had no idea! See, I learn more each day. I've only been here for alittle over 2 years. Is it public? Hearing a lion roar every evening would be SOOO cool! I hope they still have it. Hopefully it didn't escape! LOL!

The Santa Fe zoo in Gainesville is also really good (for a small zoo)

The lion was cool - but we didn't know there was a zoo there when we moved here. I was out feeding one evening and heard it. I 'bout freaked out thinking I was going to be dinner for some really loud critter!! It was right at dusk and could see anything because we are on the edge of O'Leno State Park and it's a forest! LOL!

I couldn't get back to the house fast enough!

Howdy P-R_C!

Yeah, the RV Graveyard is just down the road from the "Knife and Gun Club" aka Santa Fe Bar. (that's what the guy who came to fix my water filter called it yesterday) Evidently, they issue you one at the door (knife/gun) if'n ya don't brung one yerself.

I haven't heard the lion roaring lately, either. That roar really carries up the river. I thought it was alligators the first time I heard it.
