Hello, we are having a heat wave here, hot for us at least. Today I noticed that my chick is very lathargic. Thought it wasn't a big deal till I went to put them to bed and she didn't move. I have picked her up and put her in coop but I'm still very concerned. Usually she would run away from me and always stays with her mom. What should I do? I'm thinking I will give her the night. It is cooling down. If she is the same in the morning I will dip her in water. Any thoughts?

Are you sure it's heat related and not possible illness? How old is the chick? If it is true heat stroke, I find holding their feet in very cold water for about 5 mins does the trick and brings their temp down. Also during really hot days you can add "rooster booster" to their water. Or another electrolyte.
