High winds today...

I just let mine out to see what they thought... they went back inside on their own accord! They said, "Geeze woman, you're crazy! We'll blow away!" and back inside they went. LOL They have a nice secure coop though, two sides of 3/4in plywood and insulation. Two fence panels blew down while I was in the shower, so the dogs went on a joy run at the park next door.

Little worried about one of the pine trees out back... it's been dead as a door nail for two years now but we haven't cut it down yet. It's path would be right onto the chicken run if a gust of wind hits it just right.

On Sunday we had gusts over 50 mph, constant winds of over 20 mph and temps of 7-15 degrees f.

I kept my girls in the tractor. I didn't even let them out in the run. I tried a couple of times and when I would go out to check on them they would all be huddled together in the corner of the coop anyway.

Poor things. They are NOT liking this cold weather.

I am in Northern Utah.

Guess we all have to bloom where we are planted. All you guys have to figure out for the cold weather when you are fixing your coops and all I have to worry about is hurricanes and floods. I hope the best for all of you.
