Highlighter yellow, grainy diarrhea dropping

For the past couple of days I've been seeing this strange, runny dropping in the coop. I tried looking in these forums but without pictures I have no idea if the issue they have is like mine. I've narrowed it down to either the rooster or a specific hen, but since it's been so cold I can't exactly sit in the coop until this mysterious poop's owner shows themselves. We have seven hens, with two separated due to pecking order issues so we know it's definitely not them, and a rooster. This is what the poop looks like:



It's bright yellow-green, has the look of very fine grits, and as you can see it's liquidy however I haven't noticed any unique smell coming from it. Then again I haven't exactly stuck my nose right up to it either. I don't see any obvious parasites or blood, and the chalky white bit was hard to spot but it was there. Nobody appears to be lethargic or showing definite signs of disease yet so they haven't been dosed with anything. Could someone help me diagnose this before a serious issue pops up?

I would check out their rear ends. You probably have at least one that has diarrhea. You want to see healthy looking butts, no drainage, clean - no poopy butts, no red raw skin, healthy light pink (depending on your breeds what skin color is normal). If you see red raw inflamed skin it may be vent gleet. Mine started as diarrhea. I didn't notice the foul smell right away either because I keep the coop clean and don't let poop accumulate. I also use PDZ. But the red raw rear combined with diarrhea is a dead give away. Of course you could also collect a fresh sample of the poop and have it tested for worms. That is always a possibility. My rooster never acted sick either, but he is the only one that has this and its been several months now. I can't seem to get rid of it.

I waited until they were roosting and I found the owner, it's one of my older hens. However I forgot to check the color of the skin, I'll do that tomorrow. I don't think our local vets do fecal testing (small town..) but I'll call around.

You could also go ahead and deworm them with Safeguard or Valbazen.

Check the crop as well in the morning to check for sour or impacted crop as well.

False alarm, the issue--whatever it was--resolved itself. No more weird poo.
